Representatives for Demi Lovato have announced the cancellation of the singer’s world tour as she continues to recover from a suspected drug overdose.
On August 4, the 25-year-old was discharged from Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai hospital and boarded a private jet to a rehab facility.
Lovato had been due to embark on the final leg of her ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ World Tour with two upcoming shows in September and six more across South America in November, which have now been cancelled as a result of her health issues.
The news comes days after Demi broke her silence on the drug overdose on Instagram.
“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” she wrote in a message. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
“I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well,” she continued. “To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.”
