The wild weather that’s hitting large areas of New South Wales today are causing havoc on most forms of transport across the state.
While delays are expected on the roads following a number of accidents and icy conditions, there are also now delays expected in the sky.
Flights travelling in and out of Sydney airport today are expected to see delays due to the intense storms and damaging winds.
Virgin Australia have tweeted saying that those travelling with them should keep an eye on flight updates.

Sydney airport also sent out a tweet last night about the weather, telling commuters to check with their airlines for the flight status.

Online website FlightStats.com are reporting excessive delays for Sydney airport, while the official airport website is also listing a number of delayed and cancelled flights, especially for domestic flights departing from Sydney.
