Coles have done a 180 on their reusable plastic bag policy, it seems.

After planning to charge shoppers for the bags from August 1, the retail giant has backflipped and decided to continue to give the shopping bags out for free indefinitely.

Coles have allegedly made the decision after continued customer complaints as shoppers adjust to the new plastic bag policy.

Woolworths, however, have not followed suit as yet and will begin charging for the reusable plastic bags if customers do not supply their own.
