A bunk bed sold at one of Australia’s biggest furniture retailers has been recalled over fears that children could become trapped.

Harvey Norman in Mascot NSW have been forced to order the recall of the Domino Bunk Bed, a wooden bunk bed for kids supplied by Dixie Cummings Enterprise Pty Ltd.

News Corp are reporting that the bunk beds were supplied to Harvey Norman without the required infill on the top bunk side panel.

A recall notice was published on the Australiasian Furnishing Association’s website stating that the product “does not comply with the mandatory standard Trade Practices Act 1974”.

The AFA has said that customers who purchased the affected bunk bed from Harvey Norman Mascot will be contacted via phone or email to organise for a new timber panel insert to be supplied.

The new part will be supplied and installed free of charge.
