The ’90s were a glorious, glorious time, not least because it was the decade that saw the birth of the celebrity couple fondly known as Posh and Becks.

And now Brooklyn Beckham, Victoria and David’s eldest son, has bestowed upon us a photo of the day it all began – the day his parents met at Manchester United’s home ground, Old Trafford, back in 1997.

A year later the pair were engaged, and the world as we knew it changed forever.

“The day my mum and dad met at Old Trafford,” Brooklyn captioned the black-and-white photo, which shows Victoria and Spice Girls’ bandmate Mel C pointing off into the distance.

That’s a piece of history right there.

Earlier this year, Victoria wrote a note to her younger self for British Vogue, in which she revealed even more details about that fateful night.

“Yes, love at first sight does exist,” the fashion mogul said. “It will happen to you in the Manchester United player’s lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy.

“While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage – you are the famous one.)

“And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you.

“He’s going to ask you for your number,” she continued. “(He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)”
