Bobbi Kristina Brown’s confidante has broken her silence about the 22-year-old’s desperate final months, as the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown clings to life in a US hospice.
Alex Reid tells E! News Bobbi Kristina appeared to be scared and upset when she called her three weeks before she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Atlanta home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon.
In her exclusive TV interview, due to air in the US on Wednesday night, Reid claims Bobbi Kristina was hiding from Gordon in her late mother’s closet.
“She was sobbing. Nick had hit her and she was scared. She was very upset. She didn’t know what to do. It was as if she didn’t have anyone else to turn to. It was heartbreaking,” Reid recalls.
Reid explains she has kept her last conversation with Bobbi Kristina to herself until now because she didn’t want to betray her friend.
But she now believes its her duty to speak on her dying friend’s behalf.
“I feel like I have to be a voice for her now,” Reid says.
Brown’s California-based friend admits she never witnessed Gordon abusing Bobbi Kristina, but said her pal would FaceTime her every time she was distraught or “when something had just happened – or show me a bruise.”
