Tackling crocodiles? Outback adventures? Holding a newborn Robert during feeding time?
When Bindi and Robert Irwin were asked what their favourite memory of their dad was, we all expected it to have something to do with animals.
But we were all wrong. And it’s kinda sweet.
Because with his kids, Steve was more than just “The Crocodile Hunter”, he was dad.
The pair recall morning rides on the motorbike and ice cream for breakfast as some of their fondest memories of the late ‘wildlife warrior’.
Plus the added bonus of running late for school due to the ice cream stop!
Bindi and Robert are getting psyched for this weekend’s Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, held in Brisbane.
And even though they will be dressed to the nines, they hinted there would still be a splash of ‘khaki’ in their outfits – as a tribute to Steve.
Steve Irwin passed away a decade ago after a stingray barb punctured him through the chest while filming off the coast.
The gala dinner hopes to raise funds for the Australian Zoo Wildlife Warriors and to further Steve’s conservation work world wide.
