She may have just realised her incredible album ‘Sweetner’, but it looks like it might be the only new music we get from Ariana Grande for a while.
The ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ singer has announced that she will be taking some time out from the music industry to “heal and mend” after the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller.
Ariana was reported to be attending the Emmy Awards with her fiancee Pete Davidson in what would have been her first public appearance since the rapper died of a suspected overdose, however, the pair were a no-show.
Her representatives later announced in a statement that she would not be attending the awards show and went on to say that she would be taking time to spend with loved ones.
“Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight. Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York. Given the events of the part couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend.
“She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for understanding.”
This comes after the 25-year-old singer took to her Instagram account to pay tribute to Mac Miller, saying that she “can’t believe” that he’s gone.
“I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. so many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do.”
The tragedy of Mac Miller’s death comes on top of the horrific year that Ariana went through in 2017 after a terrorist attack at her Manchester concert resulting in the death of 22 fans and injured 500 more.
