It appears Donald Trump’s successful presidential campaign has left the door to the Oval office wide open to other celebrities, with absolutely no prior political experience.
While we had our hearts set on witnessing the circus that would be Kanye West running for President, a new contender has emerged… Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
At a recent press conference the pro wrestler turned movie star was quizzed about his political ambitions and the prospect of him running for president in 2020.
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” he said. “It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”
And then me and Lin decided to duet.. 😉🎤. I truly think the world of this dude. Humble and kind, fierce and ambitious. Rare qualities at his level of success. Luv’d every minute of working together and look forward to creating more cool art with him down the road. I’m constantly looking for challenges that motivate me and individuals that inspire me…I check ✔️those boxes with brotha Lin. #WorldPremiere #Moana #CheckinBoxes
It’s not the first time the Jumanji star has hinted at a political career. In June he told Britain’s GQ he hadn’t ruled it out.
Finished the week strong with legs today. Currently running a 6 day split with only Sunday’s off. Extremely taxing training program – its kickin’ my ass, but I luv the challenge. Great results as I’m clockin’ in at a lean 262lbs. Big shout to my training/diet coaches @hanyrambod and @daverienzi for the constant evaluation and strategies towards every goal. We get after it and outwork all our competition. Quality and sustained success in anything we do will never come easy or overnight. It’s all about being disciplined to put in the work and do the little things every day… for YEARS. Speaking of discipline, tomorrow I’m going to crush pancakes and French toast, with a sh*t ton of syrup cause it’s my cheat day which =’s proud gluttony. #TheLittleThings
“I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring,” he continued.
“And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.”
He couldn’t be any more unpopular than Trump…
