Ray Meagher won a silver Logie award for Most Popular Actor on Home and Away – but it was his speech that put silence over the crowd.
Meagher took time to pay tribute to his late co-star Cornelia Frances who passed away after a long battle with cancer last month.
“If there’s a heaven up there somewhere, I believe she has propped up there with a glass of champagne,” he later told media.

The Living Room also bought a sentimental note to their speech, celebrating their win and celebrating their co-host Barry du Boi who has been battling cancer.
The quartet were excited to stand on stage together to accept the award – something they were not sure they would all be there for just 12 months ago.

Now we’re getting towards the end of the evening.
Hugo Weaving took out the Most Outstanding Actor, meanwhile, Pamela Rabe continues Wentworth’s strong run of awards.
Last year’s winner Samuel Johnson presented the award to Grant Denyer – and allegedly the Gold Logie has taken more selfies and attended more charity events than any other Gold Logie.
He also touched on the White Paper Rose that is currently on sale as Sam strives to raise money for charity in memory of his late sister, Connie.
