Alicia Keys and James Corden put a playful spin on Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s stellar song “Shallow” — but their version sounds even better than you think.

On Wednesday night, Keys made her late-night appearance during a guest spot on The Late Late Show , and later joined the show host on the main stage to perform a parodied rendition of the Grammy-nominated track from 2018’s A Star Is Born .

And since the decorated musician was announced as the master of ceremonies for the 2019 Grammy Awards last month, Corden — who has hosted the function twice — thought it only appropriate to use the occasion to offer the first-time host some helpful (and hilarious) tips.

As the R&B singer-songwriter took her rightful place at the piano, the 40-year-old opened their duet crooning, “Tell me something, Keys, I hear you’re set to host this year’s Grammys.” She replied, “Didn’t you host it twice? Maybe you could give me some advice.”

And boy did he!

The original number is up for three prizes this year, including Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Mother Monster would perform at the music event — but without her leading man, Cooper, by her side. No word has been said as what she will sing, but we’re crossing our fingers for “Shallow.”
