Former NRL star Alex McKinnon has welcomed a baby girl with his wife Teigan.
The pair took to Instagram to share their happy news and reveal the name they had given their bundle of joy.
alex mckinnon and teigan have named their baby girl, harriet anne.
“When 2 became 3. Harriet Anne Mckinnon. 7-10-18,” Teigan captioned an adorable photo of the growing family.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child together in March. In even better timing, Baby Harriet was born the day before Alex and Teigan celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
Just four years ago, Alex McKinnon’s future looked bleak.
After suffering a horror accident on the football field, the former Newcastle Knights backrower suffered a shattering spinal injury from a crunching tackle. He was diagnosed as a quadriplegic and has been in a wheelchair ever since.
Not wanting to waste a moment, Alex McKinnon proposed to Teigan just weeks after waking from an induced coma. He promised his former teen sweetheart that he would get out of his wheelchair and stand throughout the wedding.
In October last year, the two married in an emotional ceremony with Alex fulfilling his wish of, not just standing, but walking down the aisle.
