As you begin to say goodbye to your 20s and approach 30, certain things are expected of you.

Everyone expects you to be more grown up, to have your money and your career sorted out – but that just isn’t always possible for everyone.

However, there are a few things you definitely should know about yourself by the time you reach 30, see what they are…

#1: You still have HEAPS to learn

You don’t have to have it all figured out. If it’s true what they say and life begins at 40, then you’re still a baby! Take it one day at a time.

#2: What you need from a relationship

By now you should have an idea of all of the things you DON’T want from a relationship. Past partners should be a lot of help in that department! If there are certain qualities you know you don’t want long term, make sure you don’t forget that. Look for the qualities you know you like the most.

#3: What fulfills you

Is it family? Is it love? Is it your career? Find out where your passion lies and ensure you’re giving it the proper attention it deserves. Don’t let other things that aren’t as important take up all of your time.

#4: What’s considered a dealbreaker

There are some things in life that are non-negitioable. You don’t always have to compromise on things that are important to you. This is the time to realise that you’re in charge of your life and your relationships, so if someone is placing a negative influence on your life, make sure you don’t compromise.

#5: How you want to be treated

This is important. You need to be aware of how you want to be treated by others. It goes back to that old saying; treat others the way you want to be treated. Good karma will follow!

#6: What makes you happy

This is the most important point of the lot. You need to recognise what excites you, what motivates you, what makes you want to get up in the morning. Whether it’s your family, your career, or other passions – find out what it is – and do that!
