Beau Ryan Addresses The Cronulla Sharks Salary Cap Scandal
Amidst the Cronulla Sharks salary cap scandal, Beau Ryan has come forward to rebut reports that his former club orchestrated a system to deliberately pay players outside the cap.
The club has insisted that they are salary cap compliant for 2018 after revelations the club self-reported to the NRL historical discrepancies surrounding third-party payments.
News Corp Australia reported on Tuesday night that new chief executive Barry Russell had found issues dating back to the 2015 season while under previous management at the club.
According to the report, the initial figure of concern is believed to be around $250,000, however computer servers have been handed over to the NRL for them to make inquiries.
Crucially, the Sharks won their maiden premiership the following year in 2016, however it's reported at this stage that title is not in danger of being revoked.
Regardless though, the drama has the potential to disrupt the Sharks who enter the final round of this season in fourth and as one of the form clubs of the competition.
So, what does Beau Ryan think of the reports? Watch the video above to find out.
