Why Wonder Woman is SO Important For Women
Today on the show the girls discussed the importance of female figures in film.
This follows a series of tweets from the director of Wonder Woman Patty Jenkins, whom posted about the “cute Wonder Woman related things” that happened in one kindergarten classroom after the superhero film was released.
In Jenkins tweet she explained that her producer received the bulleted list from someone who works in a kindergarten class.
“I work at a kindergarten and this is a collection of cute Wonder Woman related things that happened within a week of the movie being released,”
My producer just sent me this... ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! This makes every hard day worth it. Thank you to whomever wrote it!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/3DzIaMueIh— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) June 11, 2017
By Monday morning the tweet had received over 25,000 retweets and 57,000 likes.
The post originated from Tumblr user Hot Latino Space Rebel (Kassie) who was overwhelmed by the attention her post had received.
“What makes the impact of Wonder Woman so amazing is that even without [all of] these children actually watching the movie, it has changed the way the play games, the way they view superheroes, the way they interact with each other,” Kassel wrote. “...This is why female-led films are so important. Because media shapes the environment in which children grow up.”
We LOVE the positive impact of this film, what do you think?
