Man Believed To Be Graffitiing Before Being Killed By Train
Police are treating the death of a young man yesterday as a “misadventure” after he was hit and killed by a train in Sydney’s south.
Emergency services rushed to Riverwood Railway Station just before 2:50pm on Wednesday after reports that a young man had been hit.
A heavy police presence remained at the scene for a long time and a crime scene was set up to determine why the victim had been in the rail corridor at the time that he was hit.
They now believe the man was with another person spray painting a stationary train carriage when he stepped backwards into the path of an oncoming train.
Commuters saw major delays in the area with buses replacing trains between Riverwood and Kingsgrove throughout the afternoon.
A report is now being prepared for the coroner.
