Woman Wakes Up Alive In Morgue After Being Pronounced Dead
While the ability to come back from the dead may be something that we all thought to be mythical, a woman appears to have done just that after she woke up alive in a morgue having previously been pronounced dead.
The woman was not breathing when she was found at the scene of a road accident in South Africa. Paramedics declared that the woman had died and she was transported to Carletonville morgue.
It wasn’t until some time later that a worker at the morgue checked on the body in the mortuary fridge and discovered that the woman was actually breathing.
She was taken to a hospital east of Johannesburg last week and an investigation has since been opened, with the woman’s family telling the BBC that they are demanding answers.
“That’s all we want [answers] and we don’t have any clarity now,” said one family member.
The operations manager for the Ambulance Distress Alert, Gerrit Bradnick has since spoken out to TimesLive saying that there is “no proof of negligence” on his company’s behalf.
“This did not happen because our paramedics are not properly trained,” continued Mr Bradnick.
The accident that the woman was part of injured several people and killed two others.
This is not the first time that someone has been wrongly taken to the morgue. Seven years ago a 50-year-old man woke up in a mortuary in South Africa and began screaming, having been there for 24-hours.
