Two Women & Two Children Located After Suspected Kidnapping

A 41-year-old mother has been located during a police operation after she was allegedly abducted from a home in Central West NSW by a number of armed men, along with her two young sons and their grandmother.

Officers arrested a 44-year-old man after he was found with the woman in bushland near Blaclands Ridge just after 11:30pm on Tuesday. She was taken into the care of local police.

A number of hours earlier, a 71-year-old grandmother and her two grandsons aged 13 and 14 were located after managing to escape two armed men on Putty Road near Sackville north west of Sydney.

The two men were arrested in nearby Windsor a short time later after allegedly ramming a police car.

The terrifying ordeal began in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a group of men allegedly stormed a property in Ootha, near Condobolin in the Central West before the grandmother, her daughter and two grandsons went missing.

A 68-year-old man was allegedly knocked unconscious during the invasion and woke to find no trace of the two women and two boys.

The property, which belonged to the grandmother, was then burnt to the ground.

The injured man told police that a 1998 Toyota 4WD before two men, believed to be armed with a shotgun, axe and knife jumped out.

NSW Police said that they were treating the incident as an incident of domestic violence.

An initial search for the family began at the property before a wide-scale search was launched, after it was not known if they had perished in the fire or had been taken to another location.

The injured 68-year-old mans relationship to the four victims has not yet been established. He was airlifted to Orange Base Hospital in a critical condition.
