Teen Stabbed In Terrifying Attack At Sydney Sports Event

A teenage boy has suffered a terrifying attack after a group of strangers stabbed and punched him in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police have said that that 18-year-old had been taking part in a sports event on Thursday night at Peter Hislop park in Auburn when the attack occurred.

At around 7:45pm an unknown male asked the teenager to come with him to the main entrance of the park where he was confronted by a group of men.

The men allegedly asked the 18-year-old to follow them to an unlit area but when he refused two of the males assaulted him. The teenager was punched repeatedly in the head and stabbed in the back and neck in the assault.

Emergency services were called to the scene where the teen was treated for several small puncture wounds to his back and neck, before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established at the park and officers from Auburn Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

One of the perpetrators has been described as Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his 20s, about 180cm tall, thin build, with a dark coloured beard. The man was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, tracksuit pants and white Nike shoes.

There is no clear description for the other men involved in the incident.
