Officers Injured By Falling Tree In Sydney Storm
Two police officers have been injured by a falling tree during the wild weather in Sydney this morning.
The officers were assisting motorists who had reportedly become trapped on a flooded road in Sydney’s north when they were injured.
At about 6:50am, police were called to Pittwater Road near Blenheim Road, North Ryde, following reports that drivers had become trapped on a flooded road.
Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended the scene and were attempting to clear the road, when a tree fell down on two of the officers and a vehicle.
A male Leading Senior Constable sustained minor injuries and is being assessed for a possible concussion.
A Female Probationary Constable suffered serious injuries, including a possible broken leg.
The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore hospital in a serious but stable condition.
