Sydney, This Is The Road You Need To Stay AWAY From Today

Sydney is at a standstill this morning after the M1 Pacific Motorway (F3) Mooney Mooney at Jolls Bridge.

The southbound freeway is closed and diversions are in place. A serious truck fire has closed all citybound lanes on the M1 Pacific Motorway, causing an eight-kilometre traffic jam.

The semi trailer burst into flames near Jolls Bridge, near Mooney Mooney just after 5:30am.

Emergency services are currently at the scene and working to extinguish the fire. Fuel has been spread across the road.

The M1 Motorway is closed at Mount White and traffic is being diverted to the Pacific Highway.

"Motorists are already queued well over five kilometres approaching the diversion point," Transport Management Centre spokesman David Wright said.

Authorities recommend you delay your journey and to expect delays.

The current queue for traffic is 8km.
