Crowds march against domestic violence on White Ribbon Day

Sydneysiders have come out in droves to march against domestic violence on White Ribbon Day.

This morning’s annual walk from Randwick to Coogee saw thousands of police officers, school kids and other community members come together while survivors shared their stories.

Some attendees told [KIIS] it was the biggest turn-out they’d ever seen at the event.

It came as the state government announced an independent review of sentencing for domestic violence killers, in an effort to reduce re-offending by 25% by 2021.

Domestic violence homicide claimed 28 lives in NSW in 2017-18, representing nearly half of all homicide victims.
