Stephanie Scott's killer faces sentencing Today

The family of slain NSW teacher Stephanie Scott is due to come face to face with her killer Vincent Stanford at a court hearing to decide his fate.

The 25-year-old former school cleaner is expected to appear at a Supreme Court sentence hearing in the southwest NSW city of Griffith on Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty three months ago to the aggravated sexual assault and murder of 26-year-old Ms Scott at Leeton on April 5, 2015.

She was due to marry childhood sweetheart Aaron Leeson-Woolley six days later.

Stanford's identical twin brother Marcus has already been sentenced for helping dispose of Ms Scott's rings and driver's licence.

According to crown facts in Marcus Stanford's case, Vincent Stanford attacked Ms Scott at Leeton High School on Easter Sunday 2015 after she went there to prepare lessons for a substitute teacher..

After getting a "rape kit" from his home, Stanford dragged Ms Scott into a store room and physically and sexually assaulted her before stabbing her in the neck with a large knife, the crown facts said.

He told police that after punching her unconscious, he struck her in the carotid artery - using a knife with 35cm to 40cm blade - to "make sure she was dead".

Stanford put Ms Scott's body in the boot of her own car and drove it to Cocoparra National Park, 70km away, placed tree branches over her body, and set her alight, according to the crown facts.

He faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Marcus Stanford served 15 months in prison for burning Ms Scott's driver's licence and selling her engagement ring and a graduation ring from her mother for $705 at an Adelaide jewellery store.

He pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to Ms Scott's murder and walked free last month after serving the full sentence.
