Police Identify Woman Whose Body Was Dumped In A Sydney Park
Police are appealing for information after the identity of a woman found dead near a north shore playground last week has been formally identified.
The woman who was found wearing a purple collar in Buffalo Creek Reserve in Hunter’s Hill last Wednesday has been identified as 32-year-old Nicole Cartwright.
Ms Cartwright, is from Lansvale in Sydney’s west,.
Officers were called when a council worker found her body at 7.30am last Wednesday.
Police said in a statement:
“Ms Cartwright lived with her parents at Lansvale and had a wide circle of friends, often spending time in Sydney’s CBD, Eastern Suburbs, and surrounds,”
“She did not own a vehicle, but frequently travelled on public transport around the Sydney Metropolitan area.”
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Ryde Police Area Command have established Strike Force Winkurra to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
CCTV footage of Ms Cartwright travelling on a bus between Town Hall and Ashfield on September 28 was released by police on Wednesday as they appealed for help from the public to map her final movements.
