Mother Sentenced To 28 Years After Starving Her Stepson

WARNING: This story includes content that may be confronting and distressing for some.

A mother-of-seven has been sentenced to 28 years in prison after reportedly starving her five-year-old stepson, forcing him to wear a nappy, and making him sleep in a wardrobe called the 'Harry Potter room'.

On Friday, Tammi Bleimeyer was found guilty of forcing her stepson, Jordan Bleimeyer, to live in a filthy closet, and starving him in 2014.

The five-year-old allegedly only weighed 13 kilograms, with doctors comparing his state of malnourishment to a Holocaust survivor.

Authorities were alerted about the situation after the victim's 16-year-old stepbrother reported the abuse Jordan was facing by his mother and 24-year-old stepfather. He claimed they were forcing the boy to wear a nappy, and keeping him trapped in a tiny closet under the stairs with no food.

Jordan's 33-year-old stepmother, who was six months pregnant at the time, immediately took him from the family home, and refused to return when police showed up.

After tracking Tammi's mobile phone to a local motel, they discovered the child who had various bumps, bruises and was dangerously underweight. Emergency personnel was called, and the child was transported to a Texas Children's Hospital.

Doctors said the five-year-old could have died within days if he had not been rescued.

It is believed that Jordan was living on one slice of bread a day, which would be removed if he didn't eat it fast enough. When guests were over, he was reportedly drugged to keep quiet. The abuse didn't stop there, it was later revealed that the five-year-old's head had been slammed into a wall, and he'd been Tasered.

Jordan has since been reunited with his biological mother. His other siblings are under the care of Child Protective Services. His father, Bradley Bleimeyer, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in 2016.
