Man Shot In Adelaide's CBD After Alleged Abduction
A man's been shot by police in the city after a dramatic abduction attempt and pursuit that lasted more than 90 minutes.
Just after 9 last night, police will allege the man forced a woman, believed to be his former partner and her two small children, into a car in Cumberland Park.
Police say two bystanders attempted to intervene, but were threatened with a gun. Police tracked the car using the PolAir helicopter and attempted to stop the vehicle with road strikes multiple times.
After a failed attempt to drive down Rundle Mall the car was halted on Hindley Street and STAR Group Officers surrounded the vehicle. Police say that's when the man allegedly produced a gun and threatened a 3-year-old girl.
Police shot the man and he was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman and her two children were not psychically injured, but were treated for shock at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
