Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Stabbing Last Week
A man will is expected to face Wollongong Local Court later today, charged with murder after a fatal stabbing outside a Methadone clinic in the Illawarra region last week.
Emergency services were called to Denison Street in Wollongong in the early hours of Friday May 4 after reports that a fight had broken out.
A 39-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his chest. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital but died a short time later.
Police launched a manhunt for the culprit on Friday and yesterday at about 2:30pm a 52-year-old man attended Wollongong Police Station, where he was arrested.
The man has since been charged with murder and refused bail. He is due to appear before Wollongong Local Court today, Wednesday May 9.
