Judge Hands Down Decision On Louise Bell Murder Trial
Dieter Pfenning has been found guilty of the murder of 10-year old school girl Louise Bell. The little girl was abducted from her bedroom in January 1983.
Raymond John Gessing was convicted of her murder in 1985, but the ruling was quashed on appeal. Three decades later, improvements in DNA technology led to a major break through.
Samples from Louise's yellow pyjama top, which was left at a nearby house a few weeks after her disappearance, helped police charge former school teacher Dieter Pfenning with her murder in November 2013.
He was already serving a life sentence for murdering 10-year-old Michael Black in 1989 and later abducting and raping a 13-year-old boy.
