World’s 'Best Hotel’ Is Hidden In An Aussie Suburban Beach
A New South Wales hotel located on a suburban beach has been awarded ‘best’ hotel by travel site Mr and Mrs Smith.
What makes the award so special is real life guests help vote anonymously on the recipients. The list of top hotels are then given to a judging panel full of style hipsters who ultimately select the winner.
Halcyon House in Cabarita Beach beat out some 1,000 boutique and luxury hotels on the website’s profile after finishing runner-up last year.
The Old Clare Hotel in Sydney’s working class suburb of Chippendale also took out Best Gourmet Getaway gong.
The judging panel included British fashion designers Charlotte Olympia Dellal and Henry Holland; Sydney design duo Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy and Melbourne-based jewellery designer Lucy Folk.
