Woman's "Deadly" Vagina Felt "Like It Had Grown Teeth"

A woman has spoken about the life-ruining surgery that caused her vagina to "grow teeth" and "bite" her partner's penis.

Theresa Bartram, who had struggled with stress incontinence after giving birth, underwent a procedure to "lift" her prolapsed bladder with a plastic mesh sling known as transvaginal tape (TVT) in 2007.

But just two years later the tape began to slip, causing horrific injuries to her boyfriend's penis.

"It was like it had grown teeth," Theresa told The Sun. "His willy was bright red and spouting blood. There was a big red stain spreading between us on the sheets.

"After that he was scared of my lady garden and approached it as if it was a Venus flytrap and he was a bluebottle."

Despite Theresa's fear that her TVT was to blame, doctors assured her everything looked fine.

However the 50-year-old was wary about having sex again, and the issue led to her and her boyfriend breaking up.

Unbelievably, Theresa continued to suffer from bloating, stomach pains, diarrhoea and vomiting for SEVEN more years; she saw more than 20 different doctors and had surgery to remove her gallbladder before a consultant finally examined her properly and told her the mesh needed to come out immediately.

In November 2015 Theresa had the faulty mesh - which had worked its way through her vaginal wall and become secured to her pelvis with cartilage, turning hard - removed.

"It felt like razor-sharp teeth, hence why it had ripped a chunk from my boyfriend's willy," the UK-based mum-of-one explained. "It made my vagina deadly and forced me into a life of celibacy.

"It could have killed me.

"I'm pleased the mesh is gone but it has left my body and my vagina a total mess."
