Man Dies in Shark Attack on NSW Coast
A man in his 20s (not yet confirmed) has died after being attacked by a shark at Shelly Beach, in Ballina on the NSW coast.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man this morning but were unable to bring him to life and was pronounced dead at the scene, just before 10am.
This attack is the second in the area in the past 24 hours.
Local surfers reported that they thought the shark was roughly between 3.5m and 4m's long.
Beaches have now been closed from South Ballina to Lennox Head as police and lifeguards look for the shark. Surf life saving boats and jet skis will remain on-scene to assist keeping the public out of the water.
Our thoughts go out to the young mans family and friends.
