HUGE Mystery Sea Monster Washes Up On Beach After Hurricane
So we always knew that the deep dark spaces of the ocean could be home to some seriously weird creatures... but never in even our craziest nightmares did we think there was a creature that existed that looked like this!!
And we say creature because we literally don't know what it is!
What some people are calling a sea monster is said to have washed up on a beach in Texas City during the recent and record breaking Hurricane.
The creature was found decaying in the aftermath of the storm by Preeti Desair as she was simply going for a casual stroll before making the terrifying discovery.
"I was out on the Texas coast after Hurricane Harvey, assessing sites to see how they'd fared after the storm with a team of folks from Audubon Texas," said Preeti to Earth Touch News.
"We were on a beach in Texas City and saw this thing from afar so I got closer to figure out what it was.
"I've already got a huge interest in wildlife, especially birds and ocean creatures, but it was so unexpected to see it there on the beach.
"On first glance, it looked like something from the deep sea to me. My initial thought was it might be a sea lamprey, but when I got close I realised there was no way that was what it was, particularly based on the mouth.
"We squished it around a bit and even turned it over but couldn't come up with any other ideas."
Since she struggled to identify the creature, Preeti posted a photo to Twitter to see if others could come up with something. But this thing was so rare that many biologists out there couldn't even come up with any ideas.
Although, one scientist from the Smithsonian, Dr Kenneth Tighe, has suggested that it looks like some type of 'fangtooth snake-eel'.
No matter what the creature actually is, it's all I'm going to be able to think about the next time I enter the ocean...I mean just look at those teeth!
