Former Penthouse Pet Jailed For Drug Smuggling

A former Penthouse Pet, who was accused of helping smuggle the drug ice into Australia, has been sentenced to a minimum of six-and-a-half years in jail.

Simone Farrow was arrested seven years ago on the Gold Coast, accused of being a drug kingpin who posted top-quality meth concealed in bath products to buyers in Australia.

Prosecutors alleged the 41-year-old ran the dug ring, under the name of Simone Star, while she was in the United States to pursue a career is music and modelling. It was also claimed she used staff from her business to assist the operation.

The former Penthouse Pet denied the allegations, claiming her employees ran the drug network and took control of her bank accounts, email addresses and mobile phone without her knowledge.

Judge David Arnott ruled Farrow had gained substantial income for her role in the drug smuggling and was guilty of communicating with customers, creating invoices for consignments devising false names and addresses.

“Whilst I’m not able to find that she was the principal behind the criminal enterprise, I find she played a principal role,” he said.

“She played an essential and important role in a significant (criminal) enterprise using her image as a model for a cover.”

Th 41-year-old was given an overall sentence of 11 years. With time already served she will be eligible for parole in February 2019.
