Jessica Mauboy, Ben Lee, Sneaky Sound System singer Connie Mitchell and One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder will make up a new quartet of celebrity mentors on The Voice Australia.

The lineup for Nine Network's TV talent quest, which started production in February, is now complete, according to News Ltd newspapers.

Mauboy will team up with coach Ricky Martin, who took Keith Urban's red swivel chair after the Australian became a judge on Channel Ten's American Idol; Lee will work with Joel Madden; Mitchell will team up with Seal and Tedder will work alongside Delta Goodrem.

The new mentors replace Ricki-Lee Coulter, Megan Washington, Darren Hayes and Joel Madden's twin brother, Benji, who all played supporting roles to the coaches in the program's first season in 2012.

Bondi indie pop favourite Lee told News Ltd he was excited by the role, having befriended the Madden brothers before they broke through as Good Charlotte.

"They had that unique mix of confidence, charisma and talent that left me unsurprised when their careers blew up several years later.

"It is this same blend of characteristics that make singers really connect to their audience and I'm excited to have the chance to help Joel bring out the best in his team this year."

Mauboy said it was "an honour to be working closely with such an incredible world class artist" in her Sony stablemate Martin, who hand-picked the young diva after watching her film The Sapphires on the plane to Australia in February.

Mitchell's inclusion in the upcoming season apparently came after a fateful dinner at Icebergs in Bondi last May, on the same night The Voice coaches were celebrating their top-rating series launch in the restaurant's adjoining bar.

Pop-rocker Tedder is also an independent songwriter and Grammy-winning producer, having worked with a host of stars including Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson and Aussie pop star Cody Simpson.

Tedder is currently working on new material with Goodrem.

Martin, Seal, Madden and Tedder will jet into Australia in March ahead of the pre-recorded Battle Rounds, which will be filmed in Sydney on March 9 and 11.
