The Olsen Twins Just Settled A HUGE Lawsuit

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s company have moved to settle a class-action brought about by 185 former interns who claim they worked up to 50 hour weeks for no pay.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s company has moved to settle a class action brought against the them by a number of employees, after a former intern claimed she was hospitalised for dehydration while on the job.

The suit was filed in 2015, by 185 interns who claimed they worked up to 50 hours a week for no pay. Lead plaintiff, Shahista Lalani, claims she worked at fashion line The Row for five months undertaking the same work as some full-time employees, The interns are seeking damages including minimum wage and overtime.

“It was like 100 degrees outside. I’d just be sweating to death. I probably carried like 50 pounds worth of trench coats to Row factories,” Ms Lalani told Page Six.

“You’re like an employee, except you’re not getting paid. They’re kind of mean to you. Other interns have cried. I’d see a lot of kids crying doing coffee runs, photocopying stuff,” she continued.

While the Olsen’s company, Dualstar Entertainment Group, previously told USA Today they would fight the “groundless” accusations, according to The Fashion Law the company will now pay $140,000 to a class of 185 interns.
