The Block Is Coming To THIS Melbourne Suburb
The biggest show in Australian TV is going back!
And with its launch just months away, the Herald Sun is reporting that Channel Nine has purchased a $10 million block of land in Melbourne’s Elsternwick to film the series.
The newspaper says that the land is in a ‘up-market enclave’ of the suburb.
The location that was thought to be chosen was a former St Kilda flophouse that had a crime-ridden past including drugs and murder.
Last year's season of The Block was a huge hit for the Nine network, attracting its highest finale ratings since 2014.
Casting for the season began in January and filming is expected to begin in April.
It even looks like this season will feature an elimination round, similar to that of season five.
The Block is currently Australia's highest-rated reality show following a ratings decline for the Seven Network's My Kitchen Rules.
Last season of the show was won by young engaged couple Will Bethune and Karlie Cicero.
