Bitter Tom Arnold Pay Dispute Channel 10 Don’t Want Leaked

This morning Kyle and Jackie O had an exclusive chat with Peter Ford, who revealed he had some inside information about a bitter feud between Channel 10 and Tom Arnold, in reference to payment for his appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’

Basically, the dispute is over $140,000US, which Tom Arnold believes he is entitled to, no matter how long his stint in the jungle.

To date, Ford reported that Arnold has already been paid $270,000US, which is currently being held in escrow.

Channel 10 are disputing the payment, given the length of Arnold’s stint on the show, however, the comedian’s response is that he lost out on the amount of money he claims he was initially promised [$400,000US] by not being back in the US and available to take part in Superbowl half time commercials.

A few weeks ago, Arnold surprised many when he responded to a fan’s tweet this week asking what had convinced him to sign up for I’m A Celeb. “$600k-$700k,” he replied, saying he was “Out of comfort zone. Scared. Embarrassed” on the show.

It may be better for Channel 10 to just pay Arnold the money he believes they agreed on, as the more this dispute gets out the harder it will be for the show to pin other overseas celebrities in the future - for that price tag!

A statement from a Network Ten General Counsel, Stuart Thomas:

“Network Ten will not discuss the terms of a confidential agreement that was signed by Tom Arnold after legal and PR advice was provided to him, but we can confirm that Ten does not owe him any money under our agreement with him and we have made all payments owing to him. Any suggestion that Ten has not acted in good faith is unfounded and misleading. Tom Arnold’s only agreement with Ten was for his appearance in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. Ten understands that Tom Arnold’s agent and lawyer were exploring a tour option for him, however, due to his performance in the jungle, the tour operator declined to proceed with the tour.”
