Plane Carrying Cast Of Reality Show Made In Chelsea Crashes

A plane carrying the crew of television show Made in Chelsea has crashed into the Pacific Ocean ahead of a special version of the show being recorded in Costa Rica.

It is understood that two senior producers and two technical directors were on board the small private plane hen it lost control and fell into the sea off Puntarenas.

None of the crew nor the pilot were harmed, and all five were rescued by the local coastguard and taken to a nearby hospital for checks.

No stars of the show were involved, and they are believed to be flying to the country separately.

A spokesman for NBC Universal International Studios, which owns Made in Chelsea's production company Monkey Kingdom, said: 'Four of our Production Team on Made in Chelsea, produced by Monkey Kingdom, were involved in a plane crash earlier today in a resort in Costa Rica.

'We can confirm that all four people and the pilot are safe and unhurt. No cast were onboard.

'We are grateful to the emergency services in Costa Rica for their assistance in this serious incident.

'We have taken immediate steps to ensure those involved have every support locally and our priority is to return all cast and crew home.

'We ask that the privacy of everyone involved in Made in Chelsea, both on and off screen, is respected over the coming days.'

The company said it would not be naming anyone involved to protect their privacy.
