Oprah May Actually Run For President In 2020
Yesterday, the world sat up and paid attention to their telly when an idea was planted, an idea that could change the face of the world as we know it, courtesy of Seth Meyers at the Golden Globes.
During his opener for the show, host Seth Meyers fired a few jokes at current President Donald Trump, one of which included the explanation of how during a comedy routine at the White House, he’d joked about Trump’s inability to do the top job - a jab that had allegedly convinced Trump to run for office.
It seems Seth Meyers feels responsible.
With that, he turned to Oprah, pointed at her and said, Oprah, you will never be President. You do NOT have what it takes.”
Then he turned his attention to Tom Hanks; ‘Hanks! Where’s Hanks? Hanks, you will never be Vice President, you’re too mean and unrelatable.” “Now we just wait…” he finished.
It seems that even though Oprah laughed through the gag, it also got her thinking. CNN is reporting that the media titan is “actively thinking” about running for president in 2020.
Some of Winfrey’s close friends have reportedly been urging her to run, CNN reported.
The Democratic race for US president won’t officially begin until after the 2018 midterms, but many candidates are already making trips to Iowa.
Winfrey’s longtime partner Stedman Graham piqued interest in the possibility after he told the Los Angeles Times, “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it.”
We sit and we wait… Imagine it.
Oprah Winfrey up against Donald Trump…
I’ll take a front row seat.
