Kim Possible Is Being Made Into A Live-Action Disney Film
If you watched the Disney Channel as a kid back in the early 2000s, no doubt you knew the catch phrase “call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me” off by heart, you dreamed of having a naked mole rat (of all things) as a pet, and you answered your phone saying “so what’s the sitch?”
And it was all thanks to one of the greatest kids shows to grace the Disney screens from 2002 to 2007, Kim Possible.
She was the character that every girl wanted to be like during their early childhood. And why? Because while she may look like your average high school student, with one beep of her spy phone, Kim would turn into a groundbreaking superhero who saved the world and kicked butt, putting an end to the damsel in distress stereotype.
While the cartoon original provided us with 87 episodes and two movie specials of crime fighting, putting a stop to the evil plans of villains like Dr. Darken and Professor Dementor, we’re here to tell you that this isn’t the last that we will see of the show.
Not only is Kim Possible making a comeback with a new movie but it’s actually being developed into a LIVE-ACTION adaptation to be broadcast on the Disney Channel!
The casting has just begun for the film but there's no word on who will be playing Kim or Ron as of yet. Other characters that we hope to see make a live appearance include Kim’s BFF Monique, her parents James and Ann Possible and of course the high school’s resident mean girl Bonnie Rockwaller.
What we do know is that the original writers Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley will be joining newcomer Josh Cagan to write the script.
No release date has been announced yet but it’s safe to say that we’ll be waiting on the edge of our seats until we find out! And while we wait, we’ll be here changing our phone ringtone to the Kim Possible beeping tone.
