HBO Announces Game Of Thrones Season 7 Premiere Date
HBO have just announced that we FINALLY have a date for when we can expect to see the LONG-AWAITED season 7 of Game of Thrones.
Get your calendar out, the magic date is: July 16. It is then that we’ll find out what happens with Khaleesi and John Snow, who will reign?
The news came after HBO announced last year that rather than premiering in April like other seasons, season seven would be hitting our screens much later.
The teaser trailer is enough to make your brain want to explode.
HBO revealed the much-anticipated date in a rather different way.
Fans had to type the words ‘FIRE’ or ‘DRACARYS’ into the comments section of a Facebook Live Video to keep a flamethrower focused on a block of ice which had the date inside it, which could only be seen once it melted.
The delay in production was attributed to the producers’ decision to make the most of filming in the Northern hemisphere’s colder months, to better suit the storyline (because winter is coming, remember?)
“Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” said Casey Bloys, President of HBO programming.
The other thing to note?
Season seven will only be seven episodes long, rather than the usual 10.
I DON’T CARE I’M SO EXCITED!
