Harry Potter Star Breaks Neck In Horrific ‘Head-On’ Crash
Harry Potter star Jim Tavare, who plays Tom the Innkeeper in the 2004 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban film, has suffered a horrific set of injuries following a ‘head-on’ car crash this week.
In addition to a broken neck, Tavare also suffered a punctured lung, 15 broken ribs and multiple other injuries.
The 54-year-old actor and comedian managed to raise his thumb to the camera in a photo his wife Laura shared on social media.
Tavare has also undergone two blood transfusions and will be undergoing surgery to treat his extensive injuries.
The news was announced via a Facebook message shared by his wife Laura to Jim’s friends and fans.
She wrote: 'Now that his family have been informed, Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision.
'He's currently in ICU intensive care. He has 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck.
'He's had 2 blood transfusions so far and is about to go in for his first surgery. This is for real, not a movie role.'
'Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this.'
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim and his family.
