First Dates Or Fifty Shades? The Comment That Shocked Us All
Now that Married At First Sight has ended, we’ve had to look elsewhere to get our fix.
And it seems First Dates is trying it’s hardest to fill that role.
Just two episodes in and the series has already dropped a controversial bomb with its contestant Anna.
Ahead of her first date, the 25-year-old revealed she has a rather set definition of what roles men and women should live by.
You could say it’s very Fifty Shades-esque.
“I’m a firm believer that a woman needs to be a lady in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a s*** in the bedroom,” she confided with viewers.
Just in case that quote alone hadn’t gotten people up in arms, she followed it up with this doozie…
"I would like to find a man who treats me like a lady — at least outside of bed — and then respectfully disrespects me when it comes to it,” she said.
"I've been single for six months, so I'd want to find gentleman who's tall and strong because I do like men carrying me around, especially when it's for breakfast."
Mr Grey, are you out there?
As you can imagine, Twitter was soon filled with the tweets of shocked viewers who questioned her view.
Anna Hun, it's not the 50's 🙃 #FirstDatesAU— Amelia Richardson (@mealz210) April 11, 2017
I have visions of Anna saying to David ... the safe word is banana ... before zipping up his gimp mask ... #firstdatesau— Daveo (@inflammatorydev) April 11, 2017
Anna. Wow. What did you just say? #FirstDatesAu— Anita Kovačević (@__akovacevic__) April 11, 2017
We’re guessing the producers were jumping for joy when they saw Anna’s application, because let’s face it – the greater the controversy, the more we tune in.
At least that was the case for Married At First Sight.
