Heavily Armed Police Guard Kylie Minogue Concert In Germany
Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue has been forced to increase the security during her Golden Tour after receiving serious threats at her concert in Germany.
Authorities in the German city of Cologne have said that a possible security threat was received and as a result, heavily armed police were brought in to guard the concert.
It’s reported that 20 officers of the security services armed with sub-machine guns attended the concert on Tuesday night.
Turning up to the disco like ... #casual #GoldenTour 💛 Thank you team for another three shows in a row. You are digging deep. Thanks also to all of you in the crowd each night. You give us strength! #Cologne pic.twitter.com/Zq2Wxw8ZLl— Kylie Minogue (@kylieminogue) November 20, 2018
“The concert organiser approached us about a possible threat scenario resulting from social media,” said a police spokesperson.
“We can’t remain idle with something like that.”
Security and staff also worked along with officers to monitor the arrival of concert-goers on Tuesday. Police confirmed that the concert went ahead without any disturbance.
It’s reported that the potential threat had surfaced from Belgium. Pictures of a man were placed at the entry to the concert venue and all male attendees had their identities checked.
Authorities in Belgium have been contacted to make further investigations.
It’s believed that a strong police presence will continue at the rest of Kylie’s concerts during the European leg of her tour.
