Nick Carter Accused Of Rape By Melissa Schuman
Nick Carter is best known for being a member of the Backstreet Boys and is the latest Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual harassment and/or misconduct.
In a lengthy post publish on her personal blog, Melissa Schuman claims that Nick Carter raped her when she was 18 and he was 22.
The former member of the early 2000s all-girl group Dream went into an extremely emotional recount of what happened in her post and was at times, rather graphic. In her post she claims that she had received an invitation to Carter’s home during a day off from filming a movie they were both staring in.
Schuman states that after arriving at his apartment they begun to start kissing. She also claims that Carter undid her pants as he ignored her objections.
“He was aware that I was a virgin and that I held to religious conservative Christian values. I was vocal about this. Everyone knew about this, including those who repped me.” wrote the singer.
She recounts how Carter demanded she perform oral sex on him before he took her to the bedroom.
“He threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me. Again, I told him that I was a virgin and I didn’t want to have sex. I told him I was saving myself for my future husband. I said it over and over again. He whispered in my ear as if to entice me, ‘I could be your husband’.” she claims.
Schuman alleges that Carter then raped her. She didn’t tell anyone about the encounter for years and says she withdrew from friends and family as she processed what had happened. She ended her blog post with the hashtag #metoo.
Carter is yet to respond to the allegations. Schuman has taken to her Twitter account to thank her fans for their support.
I just want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Thank you for bearing witness to my story. Thank you for providing me a safe place to be open and vulnerable. I love you all. Thank you for aiding me in the healing that I so desperately needed. I am free now.— MelissaSchuman (@MelissaSchuman) November 21, 2017
