MAFS Husband Sean Has Spoken Out About Andrew
Married At First Sight hero groom Sean has broken his silence following the ugly dinner party confrontation on the reality TV show.
The popular farmer became Australia’s dream man when he and fellow contestant Simon defended Cheryl following a ‘sleazy’ boys night,’’ which saw Cheryl’s partner mocking his wife.
Sean has told news.com.au that it “wasn’t about being a hero”.
“I didn’t realise it would be this big,” he said.
“It’s not about being a hero — it’s about sticking up for what you believe is right. I feel proud for standing up for what I believed in and voiced what was right and what had happened.”
During the ‘boys’ night, the 38-year-old firefighter Andrew insulted Cheryl b mentioning her hair extensions and her intellect before making comments about her appearance. Simon and Sean were visibly disgusted.
Sean defended Cheryl during the following day's dinner party, which was totally out of character.
Sean said that ‘’“It’s not usually a situation I would stick around in — I’d remove myself,” Sean explained.
“But after the comments being made, I felt I had to have her [Cheryl’s] back with Simon as no one was giving her a chance.”
Sean has also revealed that Andrew has apologised for his comments since the incident, saying “Jonesy and I have spoken since leaving the experiment and understand that we all have a right to speak up — he understood why I was cranky and apologised for his actions to me.’’
Married At First Sight continues on Sunday night at 7 PM.
